OKeefe Stables are excited to welcome the newest member of our team, Firing Fast, a 3 yr old filly by Firing Line. Firing Fast was purchased at the OBS sales in June, after running an 1/8 in 10.2. She is very eager to run, well-balanced, and gallops beautifully and efficiently.

Firing Line finished 2nd in the 2015 Kentucky Derby and won the Sunland Derby by 14 lengths, setting a new track record. Black type winner of $976,000.

Firing Line is the sire of 4 crops of racing age, winning over 3 million plus in earnings, including Venti Valentine (4 wins $525,250), Nakatomi (4 wins $430, 276), and Cousin Winnie (4 wins $134,133).

Our 2 yr-old filly has been sent to Irish Hills Century Farms near Saratoga, NY, where she will be turned out for the next 30-60 days. She will then resume training and will make her debut this fall.

November Update: Our 2 year old filly, she was transferred to In Front Training Center on Nov 15th and is training very nicely. She will be moving to Belmont in about 6 weeks to start training for her first race, probably in February.

January Update: Firing Fast was moved to Belmont Race Track and has started training with Tom Morley. Tom has been a very successful trainer with over 1900 races, over 200 winners and with over 14 million in purses. We should see her official workouts in mid Feb and first start in April.

February Update: Firing Fast completed her first official work at Belmont on Sat 10FEB24. She worked 3 8th's in 38:00 and was 12th of 22 horses. Very nice work for her first time! Being inside of another horse on the rail and finishing well was impressive.

March Update: Firing Fast had a strong May and has progressively improved with each work. She just completed her fastest work on the 22nd, going 4 Furlongs in 48.1. After two more works we will have her ready for her first start at Aquaduct in April.

April Update: Wonderful first race for Firing Fast, she was entered in the 1st race at Aqueduct on April 21 and won by 5 lengths!! She was a little slow on the break but rapidly caught the leader and went by her easily. Great day for OKeefe Stables, our first race and our first winner!!
